Also in Universities and Competence Centers the installation of E.cut™t makes it possible to introduce the knowledge of wire erosion. With modest investment it is possible to show future technicians the advantages of E.cut™ technology, and its potential application in the mechanical industry.
Ecut’s wire-cutting technology, similar to the cutting technology of regular wire erosion, differs in a few points:
– Up to 20 times lower hourly operating cost than conventional wire erosion
– Machine cost up to 4 times lower than wire erosion with the same working dimensions.
– Cutting capacity on very high thicknesses
– Geometric error on high thicknesses irrelevant, ( no barrel effect )
– Simplicity of management of cutting parameters.

The combination of these features makes the E.cut™ system ideal for many machining operations carried out with chip removal, for which the use of conventional wire erosion, ( with brass wire jet ), would be impractical because too expensive.
Below are some examples of realities where Ecut’s potential has been captured and the system adopted.

Polytechnic University of Turin
at the Department of Management and Production Engineering, powders for additive printing are studied. The powders are then tested with 3D printing machines and the resulting parts are “peeled off” by E.cut™ from the plates on which they were reported .
